Room assignments are done upon students' arrival on the day of move-in based on age and gender identity. Summer Programs students who have a request to room with a particular person are asked to bring a documented request with them to move-in, such as an email, letter, or text message, that states their mutual agreement to live together. It's also highly recommended both students arrive to their program's check-in at the same time, as roommate assignments are typically made based on the order of the check-in line. The Summer Programs Student Life team does their best to honor all requests, and will by default pair roommates by age group (minors will be grouped separately from 18+ students) and gender identity. Students who identify as non-binary have the option to choose which residence hall assignment they feel most comfortable in at the time of check-in.
