What to Do if Your F-1 Visa Application is Denied

In the event that you are denied an F-1 student visa, you are entitled to receive the reason you were denied in writing. Remain calm and politely ask for this documentation from the consular officer, along with a list of documents that you could present at a future interview to help you overcome the denial. You should email this information to summerinternational@berklee.edu and we will review your denial and advise you on a path forward. Please note that while Berklee may advise you, we are unable to contact a US embassy or consulate on your behalf or otherwise intervene in your visa application process. You may be able to reapply, but it is generally not advisable to do so unless you can provide new and compelling information.

Note that the most common reason for denial is failure of the applicant to prove they have sufficient ties to their home country, so it is important to prepare your evidence for this in advance of your initial visa interview. You can learn more about visa denials below:
