To withdraw from a Summer Program, students must submit a withdrawal form using the email associated with their program registration. Requests to withdraw will not be accepted over the phone.
Refunds
If, for any reason, your summer plans change, you have the option to withdraw and receive a refund of any tuition and/or housing payments based on when you submit your written withdrawal notice. Please note that registration/application fees are nonrefundable and nontransferable, and Berklee is unable to refund the 2.95 percent service charge for credit or debit card payments. Additionally, Berklee cannot be held responsible for any currency rate fluctuations between the date of purchase and the date of the refund. Information about refund schedules is below and all deadlines are in Eastern Time.
Standard Withdrawal Refund Policy
100 percent tuition and housing refund: To receive a 100 percent tuition and housing refund, submit your withdrawal form at least one month prior to the first day of the program in ET.
50 percent tuition and housing refund: Submit your written withdrawal form one month prior through 5 PM ET of the first day of the program.
No refunds for non-medical withdrawals are available after 5 PM ET on the first day of the program.
Medical Withdrawals
Students who withdraw for medical reasons may be eligible to receive a prorated adjustment of tuition for their program. To request a medical withdrawal from an on-campus program, the student is required to submit written verification from a doctor on letterhead within 30 days of submission of the written withdrawal request that confirms the student couldn't complete the program due to a medical issue. Verifications must be submitted to summer@berklee.edu and the doctor's note must be in English and in an uneditable format to be considered.
100 percent tuition and housing refund: To receive a 100 percent tuition and housing refund, submit your withdrawal form prior to the first day of the program in ET.
Aspire: Five-Week Music Performance Intensive: After the program begins, refunds for Aspire students are tiered by week. Submit your written withdrawal request to receive an 80 percent tuition and housing refund in week 1 with a 20 percent reduction per week with approval. Supporting documentation from your medical provider must be received within 30 days of your withdrawal request.
Other In-Person, US Based Summer Programs: After the program begins, you can submit your written withdrawal request to receive a 50 percent tuition and housing refund with approval. Supporting documentation from your medical provider must be received within 30 days of your withdrawal request.
Online Summer Programs
To receive a 100 percent tuition refund, submit your withdrawal request to registrar@online.berklee.edu by 5 PM ET the Friday before the first day of the course.
If you submit your written withdrawal request by Friday at 5 PM ET of the first week of the course, you will receive a 50 percent tuition refund.
If we receive your written request by Friday at 5 PM ET of the second week of the course, you will receive a 25 percent tuition refund.
No refunds are available after Friday at 5 PM ET of the second week of the course.
Note that refunds take time to process. Once the Summer Programs team processes your withdrawal and if you are due a refund, there are other required steps completed by campus partners. Given these additional steps, we ask that you allow at least three to four weeks for your refund to be processed, though it may occasionally take longer.
If your most recent payment was made within the past 180 days and you are not receiving scholarships or financial aid, we will generally issue the refund to the original payer using the original payment method, when available. If a refund cannot be returned through the original payment method, we will issue a paper check in the student's name.
The institution may issue a refund to another appropriate recipient when required by the payment method, applicable law, the terms of a sponsorship or scholarship, or other applicable agreements. The institution reserves the right to determine the appropriate refund recipient and may require documentation to verify the recipient before issuing a refund.
